Buhari, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Disassociating From A Bad Government
Cancer is a disease that attacks a body cell and spread to other parts of the body. When cancer is noticed, the only solution is to kill the cancer cell. And when you failed to kill the cancer cell, you will pay the full price. This is exactly what Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of APC, is doing. And he is smart enough to know that the pros outweigh the cons.
Buhari, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Who Is better?
To the average Nigerian, there is nothing to celebrate in the past 8 years of President Buhari. In the 8 years, Nigerians have witnessed an increase in crime, and the soaring price of commodities. Under Buhari, the health and education sector were heavily battered. To most Nigerians, this is the lowest we have gone as a nation.
Today in the street, people believe anyone can be better than Buhari. Many Nigerians today – even those that see Tinubu as a catastrophe – believe Tinubu will manage the economy better than Buhari.
Tinubu knows of this sentiment. However, playing that card would dent the already soiled garment of the emperor. But elections are a winner takes all, and being soft to sentiments is limiting one’s chances.
Buhari Left Tinubu No Option
As a Presidential Candidate, the only way to win the people’s heart is to be empathetic. Candidates must act as if they understand the plight of the people and proffer a relatable solution. Bola Ahmed Tinubu wouldn’t have made any sense if he failed to tell the masses that his government will reduce the price of a bag of rice. Or, that his government would make fuel available and would end ASUU strike.
So, saying that Buhari met a dollar at N200 and now it is at N800 is an intelligent move. He is simply telling the masses that he can do better.
Will This Affect The Tinubu’s Relationship With Buhari?
Tinubu is a very smart man. He will turn the table. He can use the media to twist the meaning of the statement or make the President believe that he was misunderstood.
Buhari may also take it as one of Tinubu’s gaffes. After all, this won’t be Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s first verbal blunder.
