Hon Mimiy Ikpeazu on Anambra’s Quiet Return to Peace

When Insecurity Cast a Shadow Over Anambra

There was a time when the word security in Anambra evoked a kind of silent dread.
We all remember it, the tension in the air, the sudden quietness of streets that once buzzed with life, the fear of traveling after 7 p.m. Those were not distant memories; they were our reality not so long ago.

When Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, first contested for the governorship, the state was gripped by unease. Even he wasn’t spared. The memories of attacks, the uncertainty, and the shared question in our hearts – “Can this state ever truly be safe again?” – defined that season. Even as Soludo campaigned on a vision of transformation, the environment was anything but conducive. It was raw, fragile, unpredictable.

Governor Soludo’s Impact on Security in Anambra

And yet, today, something has shifted. Slowly, almost quietly, that fear has begun to ease. It didn’t happen overnight, and there were no loud announcements or grand gestures. But if you walk through our streets now, if you drive through the towns at night, if you listen closely, you will feel it.

The stillness is no longer the kind that comes from fear – it is the calm that comes from control.

“Security doesn’t trend because peace is not noisy. It doesn’t demand attention,”
Hon. Mimiy Ikpeazu, Member representing Onitsha North Constituency 1.

For those who live here, who remember how things once were, this silence — this ordinary peace — is loud enough.

Mimiy Ikpeazu Commends Soludo’s Leadership and Focus

We are gradually seeing the results of intentional leadership, coordination, and focus. Security is the backbone of progress. It is the foundation upon which trust is built – the kind that draws investors, nurtures enterprise, and allows dreams to breathe again.

Hon. Mimiy Ikpeazu believes that when people feel safe, they create, they risk, they build. And that is what this phase represents for Anambra – the return of quiet confidence in its own soil.

The Future of Anambra: From Restoration to Renewal

If the last few years have been about restoration, then the next will be about renewal. With the groundwork of security firmly established, Ikpeazu says she believes the best of Governor Soludo’s vision is yet to unfold – a phase where the state can finally exhale, and the people can look ahead with assurance.

No one forgets what was survived. But everyone recognizes what has been regained.
And that, in itself, is a victory worth acknowledging – not with noise, but with gratitude.
